Corporate Business Development Manager - Residential Development
This role will cover North West England which includes Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside.

The Role

The Corporate Business Development Manager is a key member of the National Residential Development team.You will work as part of the UKs Residential Development Team, to deliver both the performance and the strategic requirements of our hub based programme, within their own area of responsibility.

The primary function of the role is to identify, generate and ultimately provide quality instructions to assist in meeting the levels of stock required to both deliver regional Residential Development budgets and also create sustainable growth over and above this minimum standard.

Reporting to a Senior UK Director, this role holder will ensure that instruction opportunities are identified and proactively created, whilst working alongside regional hub based colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure pitches are produced and delivered to potential clients effectively.

The role will require working in close collaboration with other business unit leaders, functional heads, business partners and teams across the Group to deliver outstanding performance in line with our Purpose, Vision and Values and our stated strategic ambitions. The role holder will maximise business opportunities through the delivery of exceptional standards of service to our clients, by understanding the requirements and motivations of UK residential property developers and housebuilders, the role holder will maximise exposure to opportunities and cross sales service lines, resulting in market leverage for the Group.

Examples of what you will be doing:

Strategy:

- Develop, support and implement the Residential Development prospecting and business winning strategy, in support of local business unit growth ambitions

- Form a deep understanding of Countrywides competitive positioning in the relevant business areas and assist the Regional leadership teams in developing the strategy required to beat the competition and grow market share

- Work with local Residential Development teams to develop a robust strategic and operational plan to drive the business winning performance and define business goals within the local markets

- Grow our existing business within the sector, including, but not exclusively or limited to; new homes distribution, financial services, conveyancing, estate management

Culture:

- Act as a visible advocate and role model, demonstrating our purpose and values and creating an environment where are values are consistently demonstrated through their behaviours

Financial Performance:

- Own the delivery of sustainable growth in the operational area

- Deliver budgeted/forecasted performance targets

- Own the implementation of a business plan for the operational area, aligned to the aspirations of the business units and our house builder clients

- Work with other Group business units to capture commercial cross-sell and up-sell opportunities and demonstrably reduce value leakage (e.g. missed cross-sales opportunities, etc)

- Develop insights and a deep understanding of our Customers ambitions and create genuine partnerships to ensure those ambitions can be realised

- Drive and embed a culture of true customer centricity, putting our customers at the heart of everything we do

People Management:

- Assist the Residential Development Leadership team to develop a high performance culture which drives the delivery of exceptional results across a balanced set of metrics, always doing the right thing for our customers, our people and our business as defined by our values.

- Work closely with Regional Strategic Land Partners and hub based staff to ensure that performance is maximised and financial results are optimised for the Group

Experience you have that will set you up for success:

- You will have been a valued member of a high performing business unit, with New Homes/Developer familiarity and in all probability with Estate Agency experience

- You will have a strong track record in business development with an outstanding commercial acumen and industry knowledge

- You will have experience of working in a fast paced and demanding environment and will also have residential development knowledge/competency

- You will be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills, to inspire others and maximise performance

- You will have outstanding influencing and communication skills with written and verbal eloquence, together with an ability to handle conflict

- You will have analytical skills and ability to prioritise with strong judgement skills and an ability to make decisions


Other helpful things to know:

- This role reports to a Senior Residential Development Director

- This role is intended to cover wide geographic territories and therefore base is flexible, although will preferably be within one of the Residential Development hubs

- Specific financial and budget aspects for this role: This role will be responsible for delivery of defined business level, details of which will be set out separately

- You will also have strongworking relationships with: Countrywide Residential Development leadership team and hub based colleagues, other Business to Business colleagues (Estate Management, Asset Management, Conveyancing), Financial Services teams (Mortgage Bureau), Sales & Lettings Regional Leadership teams, as well as wider, associated business teams including Aylesworth Fleming and Group internal Marketing and other enabling teams such as Group Research.
