About Us:

South Wales Transport commenced operating on 2 May 1914 in Swansea with the early buses having solid tyres and staff and passengers exposed to the weather.

Nowadays we are at the forefront of on bus technology, leading the way with real time information, tracking and contactless payments!

In April 1995 after several mergers South Wales Transport was to form FirstBus and all Welsh operations were rebranded as First Cymru.

Now the company operates around 200 bus services in the south Wales area, in and between Haverfordwest, Pembroke, Tenby, Carmarthen, Llanelli, Swansea, Pontardawe, Neath, Port Talbot, Maesteg, Bridgend and Cardiff.

We in the West Wales area, are a smaller group of employees, of around 110 and have work-family orientated feel in each of our depots at Llanelli, Tycroes, Carmarthen and Haverfordwest. We also provide a friendly, reliable service to some of the remote areas of our beautiful countryside, with good links to the city of Swansea.
