Purchasing Analyst - Ideal Bathrooms - Milton Keynes

Purpose of the role
To ensure the Purchasing department provide the highest possible standard of service thereby contributing to company sales and profits. This is achieved through maintaining the system with accuracy of price files, volumetric information and product data, plus new product creation. You will also be responsible for purchasing, ensuring we have the right stock, in the right place, at the right time, in the right quantities and at the right price.
Duties
- Ensure all price increases are thoroughly checked & updated on the system.
- Manage system data integrity: barcodes; lead times; weights; volumetrics.
- Complete the set-up of quarterly promotions.
- Set up all new products on the operating system.
- Review forecast exceptions in the order management tool to order and plan in deliveries; manipulate forecast data where appropriate to ensure strong availability.
- Plan and place orders using agreed supplier criteria such as MOQ's and MOV's.
- Ensuring purchase orders reflect the agreed purchase price, investigating any anomalies.
- Complete regular stock reviews & arrange annual/quarterly stock cleanses with suppliers.
- Liaise with operations manager and warehouse managers on deliveries.
Preferred Skills/Expereince
- Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, presentation.
- Ability to prioritise work loads.
- Meticulous and methodical.
- PC literate - advanced Excel skills is compulsory
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to forecast expected sales, using this to place stock orders
