We currently have an hourly paid opportunity for a Skills Trainer Assessor in Horticulture. In this role you will act as the main point of contact for the apprentices and employers providing guidance, support and technical knowledge to develop the apprentices and ensure successful achievement. Your main remit will be to assess occupational competence against the relevant Horticulture qualification and pathways.

The working hours will be variable depending on the needs of the employers and their apprentices and you will therefore need to have a flexible approach.

The successful candidate will have a good level of education to a minimum of level 2 in English and Maths, along with a vocationally relevant Horticulture qualification at a minimum of level 3 coupled with recent and relevant industry experience. Ideally you will also hold an assessing and/or IQA qualification but this is not essential as the College will support you in achieving this as part of your professional development.

You will be an organised, motivated, self-starter with the highest level of commitment to securing timely apprenticeship achievement. You need to be confident in working autonomously and working away from the College site whilst maintaining a professional approach at all times. You will be a strong collaborator with exceptional communication skills (both verbally and written) as you will work closely with curriculum leads, tutors and employers.
