The Role:

As ICT Team Leader, your role will be to manage, support and develop the Port Health ICT Team, ensuring the team have the appropriate technical skills and resources. You will plan and manage the SCPHA ICT work programme as well as develop and implement a Port Health ICT Programme which supports delivery of strategic objectives through technical improvements and service transformation.

To become part of their dedicated Port Health ICT Team, you will need to be professional in approach and have a track record in managing and leading technical teams, ideally in the development of applications and delivery of ICT operation services. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the technical ability to plan, deliver and document all aspects of ICT activities and developments. You will have experience of directing, managing and motivating a team to produce positive results.

The Candidate:

To support protection of public and animal health at the border by leading and developing the Port Health ICT Team and Service. Providing:

  • Management, support and development to the team
  • The provision and support of ICT systems and services to agreed standards of availability, performance and security
  • The development and implementation of the Port Health ICT Programme which supports delivery of strategic objectives through technical improvements and service transformation
  • Able to direct, manage and motivate a team to produce positive results - including prioritising team work levels, resolving staff welfare and conflict situations, and coaching and mentoring staff
  • Able to monitor individual performance and ensure appropriate interventions are in place
  • Able to foster an environment of team working to ensure service is delivered as required

Key Requirements:

  • Degree level education, preferably in an IT related area
  • Experience of working with ITIL / Project Management and object orientated programming language (ideally C#, Javascript, HTML)
  • Commercial confidentiality aware
  • Occasional requirement to travel to meetings within the Port of Felixstowe, other Council locations and other locations to meet the requirements of the position.
