HR Consultant
We are currently recruiting for a HR Consultant for a client based in Truro. This is a temporary contract for an experienced HR Consultant on a full-time basis. You will be joining a friendly and professional team.
The Role: This will be a highly varied role in a busy department, the successful candidate will be expected to deal with people in a friendly and professional manner and perform a range of HR duties.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
- To provide expert, relevant and timely employment advice, guidance and practical support in relation to employment practice, policy and procedures.
- To engage positively with staff representatives and encourage this approach amongst line managers
- To mentor and coach less experienced colleagues within the team to increase capability and capacity of the team.
- Lead and contribute expert advice, guidance and practical support to complex organisational change and or service improvements.
- Conduct formal consultations with the trade unions and professional associations on individual and collective workplace issues.
- Maintain required case management records to assist the HR Manager to secure the most effective use of capability and capacity.
- Champion the principles and practice of equality and diversity
- Represent HR internally and externally, promoting and enhancing its reputation.
Candidate Specification: For this position we are seeking applications from candidates who can demonstrate;
- In-depth understanding of HR policies, procedures and practices and knows how to coach others in this area.
- Expert understanding of employment legislation and regulatory bodies in order to management a complex workload
- Knowledge and skill to be able to facilitate consultations with staff, managers and trade union representatives
- CIPD qualified or substantial deep employee relations experience gained in a variety of roles and with accountability.
- Broad knowledge of employment legislation and expert technical capability demonstrating up to date knowledge and best practice thinking.
