Playscheme Playworker – February Playscheme 2019

Are you enthusiastic, organised and interested in working with children and young people?
We are currently seeking to appoint a number of Sessional Playworkers to join our Play Development Team, to help us deliver a wide range of sessional playschemes across Newport during February half term 2019. Ideally, we are looking for individuals who have experience of working in Playschemes. This post may require you to travel between two sites on a daily basis.
Playschemes operate on an open access basis which allows children to choose when, and for how long they stay in the play setting. As the playworker you will ensure the team are involved in the planning and delivery of a programme to give children the incentive to play and be able to recognise when activities and the play environment needs to change.
The playschemes operate in various areas of Newport throughout the holiday. There will be a training week prior to the Playscheme starting and attendance on the training is mandatory.
