An opportunity has arisen for an accountant to join this independent tyre supplier who are based in Stonebridge, Milton Keynes.
This role would be ideal for someone looking to make a step up to the next level to put into practice much of what they have learnt during their formal training mostly likely being AAT.
This role will expose you to all aspects of a finance department and will progress as quickly as the successful person is able to.
Once fully up to speed the role will involve:
- Flash reporting on the previous days sales, profits, and units sold
- Ensuring all recorded sales arriving into their bank for all 37 centres - either through cash banking or the PDQ machine receipts.
- Directly communicating with Divisional Managers to resolve banking discrepancies
- Working with the purchase ledger person to ensure all suppliers are paid accurately and on time
- Cash flow management
- Cash book postings
- Producing accruals and pre-payment month end journals
- Sales and cost of sales invoices and journals each month
- Bank reconciliations
- Trial balance reconciliations
- Assisting the Financial Controller in the production of monthly management accounts pack
- Working with the auditors at year end
To be successful in this role you need to be AAT qualified, or if part qualified have sufficient experience to deal with what will be expected of you. You must also have high levels of Excel skills, good communication skills and very high levels of accuracy.
As you will be directly involved in month and year end closing an understanding of what can be involved during these times is crucial.
