As a member of the People team at Dentsu Aegis Network North, you will share responsibility for delivering our organisational aims for our culture. We are a small team, passionate about people, who look after around 700 people in 7 brands. Mainly based in Manchester, we also look after offices in Edinburgh, Leeds and Newcastle.

In this pivotal role you will lead the team that is the first point of contact and advice for most individuals and people managers, so will be an important influence on our business operations and culture.

Main Responsibilities

Support the delivery of the HR/People strategy, taking ownership of driving key objectives.

Support individual people managers across all sites, providing guidance and coaching to develop their judgement and communication skills when it comes to managing others.

Manage a junior team to respond to and handle a range of enquiries and activities, working collaboratively with recruitment and payroll managers.

Quality controls the delivery of all HR administration, ensuring quality, user experience and continuous improvement.

Support and work with other Managers in the team who look after Learning, Recruitment and Payroll.

Maintain an understanding of developments in employment related legislation and apply them to maintain compliance in company policies, guidance and practice.

Proactively develop an understanding of the network and the wider industry to inform your thinking and guidance on staff attraction, development and engagement.

Develop team capability and processes to deliver confidence-inspiring quality control and service.

Provision of accurate Management Information relating to people.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A capable people manager, both to manage a junior team, and to empathise and give guidance to other people managers
  • Good understanding of HR legal requirements and administrative good practice
  • Employment law knowledge to a level that can support a variety of cases including restructuring and complex performance and capability cases
  • Able to cope with a varied workload, with highly organised approach and calm under pressure
  • Proven discretion, tact and compliance in the way sensitive information is handled.
  • Demonstrates integrity, pragmatism, and a solutions-focus in decision making.
  • Proven focus on standards and continuous improvement
  • Experience operating and taking decisions independently
