Secretary/Customer Engagement Officer
£9 per hour

Temporary role until April with the possibility of an extension - Full time hours - Monday to Friday.

An excellent opportunity has become available to work for a reputable Public Sector establishment for a qualified, experienced Secretary for this exciting and challenging role. You will provide vital secretarial and administrative support to our Area Leadership Team. Your excellent organisational skills will be critical to the smooth running of our organisation and will enable us to meet our objectives to improve the environment. You will carry out a range of secretarial duties including email and diary management, organising meetings and travel arrangements. Acting as an initial point of contact, you will share and filter information for the team so that priorities are met.

This government establishment was established in 1996 to protect and improve the environment. We have around 10,600 employees. Our head office is in Bristol and we have another office in London. We have offices across England, divided into 16 areas listed below.


The successful candidate will be part of the lively and creative Customers and Engagement team. This team is responsible for protecting the reputation of the establishment reputation and ensure we give clear, consistent messages around sensitive and emotive issues. We are very proud of our excellent standards of customer service. Your work will focus primarily on colleagues (internal customers), but we passionately believe the same values and ethos apply to everyone. Our work is varied and interesting and no two days are quite the same.

Experience/skills:
The successful candidate is likely to have a recognised professional secretarial qualification and will have experience in a similar role. We are seeking someone with following skills:
" Highly organised team player
" Good level of literacy and numeracy skills
" Proven excellent customer skills
" Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
" Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of programs
" The ability to work flexibly, manage your own workload and meet tight deadlines
" An interest in the natural environment


The pay is £9 per hour. This is a temporary position until April with the possibility of extension.
