Hours: 30 per week, 39 weeks per year (term time)
Our client works with young people from across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire who do not access full time mainstream education provision.
The reasons why young people are not educated in a school environment can vary and our client provides them with bespoke individualised programmes to help them achieve and experience success.
With this in mind they require a number of Teaching Assistants who thrive on being creative and enjoy delivering education in innovative ways.
In the role you will support and maintain a high level of learner engagement, using a collaborative and holistic approach to deliver an education provision, safeguarding young people. Advocating on behalf of the young people and their families in your care, you will encourage them to be involved in decision making and the management of their individual programmes.
Assisting the Learning Manager with preparation, delivery and review of learner curriculum, you will offer a variety of approaches and opportunities to focus on engagement with learning. Collating student information including learner profiles, pen pictures, risk management procedures and special educational needs, you will aid with the completion of all assessments, pupil tracking documents, progress reports and feedback reports to commissioning bodies.
With a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children and young people or vulnerable adults within an education, health or social care setting, you will have knowledge of teaching practice for young people with additional needs. Experience of developing effective resources and with excellent communication skills, you will hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in an education, health or social care setting (e.g. relevant NVQ, PTLLs, A levels).
Able to provide evidence of previous CPD (e.g. first aid, safeguarding training, diversity training, CAF/EHC training, IOSHH), you will ideally have a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification.
As travel will be involved a full UK Driving licence is essential, as is a willingness to obtain business insurance.
