The Client

Global leader in Power Generation Transmission and Distribution systems.

The Role

My client is looking to recruit a sales and marketing leader for their power grids and grids automation business unit in the UK. The candidate will define and implement the sales & marketing strategy for the UK power grid automation market.

They will proactively lead, develop and coach the specialist sales team to achieve the agreed goals, growth initiatives and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

They own the orders budget and ensure the delivery of that budget and monthly forecast is achieved though the specialist sales team and the broader sales team in the UK.

Main Accountabilities

+ Manages and is responsible for the business unit demand-side budget of the UK

+ Responsible for creating, planning and implementing the sales, marketing (and communications) strategies for the UK in accordance with global marketing and sales strategy and budget.

+ Produces and executes action plans to deliver on the strategy

+ Owns the orders budget for PGGA in the UK, ensures priorities are defined, reviewed and acted on to achieve the budget.

+ Defines key sales and marketing targets in line with Division/Business Unit strategy and ensures these are achieved.

+ Directly manages a team of 4 specialist sales professionals, ensures that the specialist sales team is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed.

+ Owns, manages and drives sales pipeline, leads capture teams where necessary to ensure targets are met and long term profitable growth achieved

+ In line with the sales team strategy manages and develops appropriate relationships with customers and key accounts.

+ Ensures proposals are developed and approved to enable negotiations.

+ Market analysis: overseas the market intelligence process ensuring detailed market analyses of market drivers and trends, key completion, and emerging technologies. Produces monthly and ad-hoc reports to monitor market and progress

+ Collaborates internally and oversees preparation of competitor analyses ranging from full profit and loss account (P&L) and main financial data to company profile and net sales analysis.

+ Risk management: Responsible for minimizing the risks regarding the agreements/prices across customers.

Key Skills

+ HND/ Degree in Electrical Engineering/ equivalent technical knowledge

+ Power transmission or communications Market/Industry experience

+ Sales leadership in industrial sales experience

+ Power Grid Automation experience
