Power Grids Sales Specialist
The Client
Global leader in Power Generation Transmission and Distribution systems.
The Role
My client is looking for a Sales Engineer to take overall sales responsibility of the microgrids & distributed generation business in the UK. This includes sales of microgrid systems, battery energy storage systems and distributed generation solutions.

Main Accountabilities
+ Sell systems and solutions to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets as defined by management.
+ Establish and maintain effective customer relationships (from commercial to administrative functions) to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of my client's portfolio and align to provide a solution.
+ Ensure a positive customer experience throughout the sales process, including post-sale.
+ Identify sufficient opportunities to build and maintain a healthy pipeline that supports the growth ambition from the business.
+ With the pipeline in hand, identify which opportunities are best suited and what level of engagement is required for each one.
+ Understand the process and timeline undergone by all key opportunities, and at what stage each project is in.
+ Lead projects through the early stage, tender and negotiation phases until contract closure.
+ With support from other functions (tendering, legal, commercial, etc) lead contract negotiations and ensure the best possible outcome is secured.
+ Proper and accurate reporting via the official lines and tools (e.g. Salesforce)
+ Ensure efficient marketing communication to external customers (both current and prospects) takes place
+ Ensure safe working procedures and practices are followed at all times, including the wearing and maintenance of assigned Personal Protective Equipment
Key Skills
+ Recognized engineering degree (preferably electrical, electronic or computer science)
+ Prior experience with renewable energy and/or energy storage systems
+ Proven experience on microgrids (off-grid and on-grid) will be highly valued
+ Understanding of complex systems and solutions sales
+ Desirable experience: consulting services, load flow analysis, financial modelling, knowledge including modelling software (such as Homer or similar) will be valued
+ Good external and internal communication skills and assertive business acumen
+ Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
+ Business focus and results-oriented mindset
+ Time management, co-ordination, accuracy, proactivity, attention to detail and strong performance under a pressure environment are necessary
+ Ability to travel within the UK
