Site Quantity Surveyor

The Role:
Converters - Site Based Quantity Surveyor (Contractor basis/day-rate) - Job Specification

Our client is seeking a site based Quantity Surveyor (Fareham) reporting to the Sites Commercial Manager
The role will undertake work for building/civils/MEP works

Duties will include:-
Measure and value compensation events based on T&C's (GTC's) with FIDIC & Client Project modifications.
Day-to- day activities will involve;
* Leading to ascertain the quantum and value of variation claims (compensation events) by Subcontractor using the IFC drawings, bills of quantities and/or schedule as appropriate.
* Lead with recognising new negative variation orders (compensation events) based on Subcontractor activities, bills of quantities and/or schedule as appropriate.
* Assist the Commercial Manager with monitoring the requirement for and managing the issuing/receipting of early warning, Variation Orders (compensation events) and other contractual notices in line with the contractual deadlines
* Assisting with ascertaining the value of and processing in line with the contractual deadlines the Civils' contractor's interim valuations
* Other duties as appropriate to the role and necessary for the effective contractual management of the work
* Must be able to work on own initiative.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Candidates must have the ability to grasp contract requirements and apply standard methods of measurement, challenging Subcontractor approaches if these appear flawed or unjustified.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Ideally an intermediate to Senior level 'technical' measurement/valuation surveyor with circa 5+ year's experience in Civil's/Structures
