Your new company

Your new role

As a Policy Adviser you'll play an important role in driving delivery of key public services. You would be involved in both policy making and problem solving, and your work will contribute to the very highest levels of government. This role is fast paced, rewarding and provides long-term career prospects for ambitious individuals.

What you'll do day-to-day

  • Supporting the team in the development of key areas of policy
  • Working to develop and maintain strong relationships between all stakeholders to ensure that the policy intent and objectives are reflected
  • Evaluating whether policy objectives have been met
  • Analyse a range of evidence, options and information on developing policy, with the ability to bring clarity to a complex environment
  • Lead on drafting various correspondence (Parliamentary Questions, Ministerial Correspondence and FOI requests), briefings (Topical Questions, Ministerial requests) and Ministerial advice


Skills Required:


Essential

  • Excellent written communication skills; using language with precision to clearly articulate recommendations for senior stakeholders in strategy documents.
  • Experience in sourcing and utilizing credible evidence
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, with some experience of stakeholder management with senior leaders
  • Experience as a team-player, supporting colleagues and team members through change and bringing the best out of people to achieve the delivery of key outcomes
  • Ability to plan, collaborate and deliver to recognised deadlines.

Desirable

  • Understanding of politics and awareness of relevant news
  • Being able to work quickly and flexibly
  • Effectively operate in a fast-paced environment prone to change and challenge
