Mechanical Design Engineer -metal enclosures for power Electronics
This highly progressive, globally-leading electronics company has an exciting opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer within their R&D facility to extend and develop their portfolio of power and control electronics products.
You will be responsible for the full product design lifecycle, from initial specification of sheet metal enclosures to a variety of harsh environments (so need to think about material specification and finish), product testing, production and continual support. Includes modelling and analysis.
To apply, you will possess the following qualification and skills:
* HNC/HND/BEng level in Mechanical Engineering, or similar
* Proficient in Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD 3D/2D.
* Design experience of sheet metal enclosures & machined parts ideally gained within the electronics/electrical sphere, packinging-up equipment.
* Specification of materials and finishes for various environmental conditions.
* An understanding of electrical and thermal principles
* Familiar with international standards (EN 61439, ISO 12944, ISO 1461 for example).
* Possess own transport and live within a reasonable commute of Langley.
* Should be readily able to travel from time to time on company business (although pretty remote, but only UK up to Scotland).
FEA techniques (NASTRAN) would be advantageous
A salary in the region of GBP35k is offered (depending on qualifications and experience) +benefits
