Technical Officer

Permanent, 35 hours per week

 

The Role

This is an exciting time to join Waterloo Housing and our Asset Management team.  In this fast paced and rewarding role, you will be responsible for providing effective responsive repairs, and a planned & cyclical maintenance service to all our customers including planning, implementing and supervision of works.

As part of this role you will carry out pre and post inspections for day to day repairs, ensuring work is ordered and carried out in accordance with Group policies, to include placing orders where necessary.  You will carry out inspections to all properties, including voids, on request from, or in liaison with, Lettings staff and preparing schedules of repairs and reports as requested. You will carry out surveys for cyclical and planned maintenance work, scheme improvements, renewal and modernisation schemes - to include determining the scope of such work including taking site measurements and preparing schedules of work as appropriate.  You will also be required to check, query and authorise where necessary invoices for general repairs.

Skills/Experience Required

To fulfil this role, we are looking for a person who has knowledge and experience of construction maintenance or facilities within a Housing environment, together with a knowledge of Health & Safety and Buildings Regulations.  You will have demonstrable experience of contract administration and have managed a patch of properties in relation to day to day repairs, cyclical and major works contracts. You will have strong financial management experience including budget management/monitoring. You will have experience of working closely with customers and have excellent communication skills.

As you will be required to visit properties or attend other Group offices, you will be required to have a driving licence and the use of your own vehicle, or have alternative means of getting to the required locations.
