Experienced Accounts Administrator

Experienced accounts administrator sought for permanent, part-time (3 days per week) position within thriving family Company based in Queniborough. Following training, the successful applicant will be responsible for accounts function, systems and procedures. Ideally will be AAT level 2 qualified and have excellent commercial acumen. Excellent package.

Primary responsibilities:

  1. Sales invoicing and receipting. Keeping accurate financial records in Sage and preparing books to send to Company accountant.
  2. Credit control
  3. Liaising with customers, suppliers and partners.
  4. Accounts payable – reconciliation and payments to suppliers.
  5. Banking and cash management.
  6. Updating of cash flow spreadsheet and monitoring the company’s cash flow.
  7. Staff expenses and commission payments and issuing and balancing of petty cash.
  8. Forecasting stock requirement and ordering from main supplier.
  9. Making $ trades.
  10. Providing comparative sales figures and analysis for management.
  11. Completing the quarterly VAT returns.
  12. Manage company credit card accounts.
  13. Analysis of profit & loss and Balance sheet.
  14. Budgeting and forecasting.
  15. Perform credit checks on prospective new customers
  16. Assisting the customer support team with answering calls and taking messages when needed.

The AA will report to the Commercial Director and will liaise with the Office Manager and Warehouse Manager.

Essential Skills:

  1. At least 5 years finance experience within a similar role.
  2. A good understanding of Bookkeeping or AAT level 2 qualified.
  3. Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  4. Excellent numerical skills and good computer Excel/Sage literacy.
  5. Highly organised and methodical approach to record keeping and reporting.
  6. Strong attention to detail.
  7. Enjoys solution finding.
  8. Self-motivated and can work well as part of a small team.
  9. Honesty and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
  10. Strong customer service ethic

Training:

Initial 3 months daily one to one training alongside current AA to learn Company systems and protocols.

Month 4, one day per week left unsupervised.

Month 5, 2 x days per week left unsupervised.

Month 6, working 3 x days per week independently with weekly review to solve any queries.

These reviews to be scaled back by mutual agreement with trainer.

Measurement of role performance:

The Commercial Director will review the AA’s performance weekly during their 6 month probation period and, once passed, monthly thereafter until the completion of first full year, with performance against agreed objectives. A yearly review will then ensue.

Working hours:

Three days per week Monday, Tuesday, Thursday- 20 hours (flexible days a possibility after training completed) - with the exception of calendar month end.

Salary (sharp upward sliding scale for right candidate)

After initial training period £20,000 pa + Benefits
