About the role:
The Accountant will have the opportunity to work on a broad portfolio of clients in and around Cornwall is able to work autonomously and involve the Managers and Partners when necessary. A large part of the role will be prepare accounts on behalf of the clients/
Responsibilities:
* Preparing of draft Accounts from management accounts.
* Reconciling bank and general ledger accounts and clearing general queries on draft accounts.
* Supporting clients on accounting issues, daily accounting tasks and ad hoc requests
* Meeting with and assisting with clients VAT returns.
* Preparing client deliverables, building relationships with the client (including their staff) and acting as an ambassador for the business
* Initiate and work with other teams across the region (including other service lines) to the benefit of the client including referring opportunities where relevant and minimising risk (to both the business and the client)
About you:
* Part qualified ACCA / ACA / AAT / CIMA or Qualified by Experience
* Must have proven experience and a rounded understanding of Accounts within practice.
* To be able to identify business opportunities
* Relevant accounting experience
* Exposure to owner managed businesses
* IT literacy with sound knowledge and experience of Excel / Word
* Experience of key accounting packages (such as IRIS, Xero, SAGE, QuickBooks)
* Friendly and inclusive working environment
* Regular training and development
