Architectural Designer job in Bristol. Our client is one of the UK's leading housing developers, with a reputation for high quality design. From their 14 regional offices, they design and build a diverse range of properties from one-bedroom apartments to luxury penthouses and prestigious executive houses.
They have a current requirement for an Architectural Designer to join their Bristol based Design and Technical team. The Design Department is responsible for producing and coordinating design information for a wide range of high-quality residential developments. This ranges from site appraisal through to planning and building regulation approvals and they work closely with other departments within the business to ensure the successful delivery of projects from initial land appraisal through to completion on site.
Responsibilities will include:
* Producing Planning application packages in conjunction with both internal and external teams.
* Producing layouts and Technical reports for Land Appraisals.
* Assisting with artwork and graphics preparation for presentation purposes.
* Coordinating and checking information from external consultants
The Architectural Designer will have a good understanding of planning and building construction coupled with design flair. A good working knowledge of planning policy and building regulations is essential. You'll be confident compiling planning application packages, combined with an understanding of technical detailing / working drawings. You'll have excellent AutoCAD skills, ideally with experience of Sketchup and Photoshop to produce graphics for public presentations and to illustrate design principles. The successful candidate should ideally hold a degree in Architectural Technology or Architecture, although candidates with a relevant HNC / HND will also be considered.
