Service Manager

Carter Pumps Ltd has an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager. Based at our Devizes head office you will be running our busy team of engineers and delivering first class customer service

The Role

This is predominantly an office based role. The key responsibilities are:-
-Control of the day to day running of the department
-Maintain existing and gain new Contract Maintenance clients
-Efficient management of installation projects

Other areas of responsibility include

Customer Processes
-Preparation and follow up of quotations
-Contact suppliers to obtain prices for ad hoc materials

Project Management
-Plan and communicate projects to engineers
-Ensure materials are ordered and available for projects
-Hire and off-hire equipment when necessary
-Prepare job card data ready for invoicing

Workshop/Warehouse Management
-Maintain trade counter area
-Monitor level of fuel tank
-Implement stock takes
-Inform relevant persons of low stock levels
-Ensure good housekeeping in workshop and on vans
-Vehicle fleet management (Service, maintain, tax, monitor mileage)
-Arrange for emptying of skip

Health & Safety
-Maintain Fire Log Book
-Preparation of Method Statements / Risk Assessments in conjunction with the H&S representative

Personnel / training
-Update engineers training records for inclusion in personnel file
-Carry out toolbox talks

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate
-A methodical but flexible approach to scheduling of engineer workload
-Good communication skills, verbal and written
-Ability to work under pressure

A full driving licence is required.

Training can be provided for the right candidate.
