Our client has a permanent vacancy for a Business Development Manager to generate sales enquiries and convert. You will proactively develop sales opportunities and drive business to maximise available dates at venues; targeting functions, events and conferences. To ensure sales targets are achieved on a monthly basis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To be aware of and to comply with company and legal requirements including health, safety and hygiene

  2. To ensure that tasks are carried out in accordance with departmental procedures and work instructions

    1. To achieve KPI's set out by Line Manager; to include sales appointments and revenue figures
    2. To actively target business to increase and maximise available space at all venues
    3. To work in conjunction with the Sales & Marketing plan
    4. To strategically plan a sales focus in line with any key marketing activity
    5. To maintain and, where necessary, make suggestions to improve standards.

8. To work closely with Sales & Conference team to ensure sales

opportunities and leads are followed up and show rounds are completed

  1. To maintain a sales pipeline and update on a weekly basis
  2. Assist in the development of the Sales & Marketing Plan
  3. To complete and return quotes and RFP's in a timely and professional manner
  4. To ensure that all company data is sufficiently maintained and secured
  5. To operate their own car and manage the maintenance in a professional and appropriate manner
  6. To ensure that any discounted rates are approved by the Line Manager
  7. To liaise and develop relationships with agencies
  8. To carry out any reasonable task as requested by a member of the management team
  9. Maintain uniform standards in line with the company policy
  10. Maintain office standards in line with the departmental policy

Ideal Candidate:

  • Business development or sales experience within hotel and conferencing
  • Proven sales track record
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • To be able to manage their own workload, multi task and operate under pressure
  • To be self-motivated and have a passion for sales
  • To be proficient in MS software
  • To have a clean UK driving license and own car which will be required for the role
