Solicitor
This role for a Solicitor has been released on a temporary basis for 4 months initially.
Main Duties:
* To undertake a range of legal work in connection with contracts and procurement work including (but not limited to) construction contracts and funding agreements in relation to a wide range of infrastructure projects.
* Progressing general contact law and procurement law advice.
* To handle a personal caseload of legal work to a high standard of professional practice
* To provide advice to the Council officers on the implications of recent legislation and legal developments.
* To give advice, support and legal representation on behalf of all Directors of the Council and to ensure that this is done in full compliance with the policies, procedures and decision of the Council and in accordance with legal requirements.
You should match the following criteria:
* Qualified Solicitor/Barrister
* Current Law Society Practising Certificate
* Experience of legal practice
* Provision of quality advice and knowledge
* Clear knowledge of Law Society Professional requirements
* Local Government or public sector experience is desirable
* Attendance and representation at Court Proceedings or other forums is desirable
* Understanding and knowledge of LEXCEL accreditation is desirable
