Our client has an excellent opportunity for a recent Graduate who is now looking for a platform to become a qualified Mortgage Advisor. This Trainee Mortgage Consultant position will offer you a structured training programme along with study towards CII qualifications.

The role sits within the Financial Planning team and you will assist the Mortgage Consultant with their private client work. You will deal with client queries up to the point of, but not including, advice and you will carry out administrative duties for the Consultant, such as administering mortgage applications, allowing you to gain experience of front and back office functions.

With strong time management and communication skills, the successful candidate will need to have a good commercial mind-set with either have a sound understanding of the regulatory requirements around mortgages or a willingness to undertake qualifications to build this knowledge. Relevant industry experience and knowledge of mortgage advice is preferred but not essential.

The structured training programme, incorporating both internal and external exams, is expected to take up to two years to complete with benchmark targets at various stages. Subject to the satisfactory completion of these (plus regulatory and compliance approval at the end), the successful candidate will become fully authorized and be able to advise clients.
