Job Title: Area Sales Manager - Main Contractors and Housebuilders

Industry Sector: Main Contractors, Carpentry Sub Contractors, House Builders and Joinery specialists

Area to be covered: London, Southern Home Counties & Sussex

Remuneration: GBP35,000-GBP38,000 + 10% Bonus

Benefits: Fully expensed car + benefits package

The role of the Area Sales Manager - Main Contractors and Housebuilders will involve:

• Field sales position, selling a manufactured range of predominantly interior timber door-sets, but also door-kits, stairs and joinery products
• 75% of your time selling direct into main contractors and housebuilders
• 25% into specialist joinery/carpentry sub contractors (key growth area)
• Direct sale, 75% into the residential / domestic market targeting housing, social housing, student accommodation etc. and 25% into commercial projects such as hotels, hospitals, leisure, retail and education
• Inheriting an area with GBP500,000 turnover, you will be tasked with growing the area to GBP1.5m in 2019
• 70% new business development position, 30% account management of nominated agreements with most of the national housebuilders and main contractors
• Working closely with estimation department who produce all sales quotes
• Technically advising customers on products, materials, processes etc
• Project management element to position initially
• Project sizes from GBP10,000 to GBP500,000+

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Main Contractors and Housebuilders with:

• Field sales experience selling into housebuilders or main contractors
• Experience selling into joinery / timber sub contractors is not essential
• Knowledge of interior timber door-sets, door-kits, stairs and joinery products may be advantageous
• Ideally from the timber/ joinery/ carpentry industry with an understanding of the products, materials and processes
• New business hunter
• Must be strong technically and have the ability to project manage as well as business develop
• Building regulations knowledge is not essential as can be taught
• IT / CRM proficient
• Trustworthy, good communicator
• Dynamic but with a personable manner
