A great opportunity is available for an energetic and innovative Electronics Design Engineer to join a leading Electronics Design, Manufacture and Test company. Based in Emsworth, Hampshire, the successful Electronics Designer Engineer will earn a competitive salary based on experience.

As an Electronics Design Engineer your main duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Take the lead role in a project, coordinating the work of other team members and external suppliers to ensure that projects are delivered to agreed timescales
- Design systems containing both analogue and digital electronics in a commercial/industrial context (transducer interfacing, signal conditioning and digitisation, actuator/motor driving, power subsystems, etc) and be familiar with relevant industrial electronic communication standards (MODBUS, CAN, Ethernet, USB, etc)
- Perform feasibility work to investigate potential methods and techniques to be employed in systems
- Produce prototype electrical/electronic hardware to demonstrate and de-risk designs
- Specify, design and implement electrical/electronic systems to applicable safety standards
- Create circuit/system designs using schematic capture tools, produce simple board layouts or supervise board layouts produced by third parties
- Specify, design and implement embedded software (in C/C++/Assembler)
- Liaise with external test houses to achieve compliance of systems with relevant EMC standards
- Perform risk assessments to determine product design compliance to applicable standards
- Create a Technical Construction File to demonstrate compliance with applicable standards
- Maintain all relevant project documentation (requirements specifications, design specifications, test specifications and reports, technical reports, meeting minutes, visit reports, manuals etc)
- Liaise with customers, representing the companys interests in a professional manner
- Work within and be prepared to contribute effectively to the maintenance of a company quality system
- Balance technical and commercial issues within a project to achieve the best outcome for both the company and its customers
To be considered for the role you must be diligent and personable. The company are particularly interested in speaking to candidates with experience in analogue and digital electronics design. In addition, the following keys skills and experience as essential:
- Degree or equivalent in a software, electronics, or mathematics related subject
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the electronics industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Demonstrable experience in commercial electronics design with exposure to at least 3 of the following:
- Sensor and actuator circuit design
- Power circuit design
- Designing to meet applicable standards
- Systems level design responsibility of control, instrumentation or test system
- Mechanical specification/design
- An understanding of physical systems (including thermal and fluidic behaviour)
- Good understanding commercial drivers in systems design
