ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS (key reporting relationships, cross functional interfaces, "customers" and Authorities)

HMRC, Banks, Customers, Auditors and Insurers
GENERAL PURPOSE OF ROLE
* Analyses and presents key financial information to help ensure the Directors make well informed decisions on stability, growth and profitability.
* Provides strong financial leadership.
* Ensures compliance with statutory obligations
* Oversees the delivery of a responsive and effective finance service
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
1. Prepares appropriate financial information to key stakeholders including profit and loss accounts, budgets, daily cash flow management, monthly management accounts, variance analysis, monthly salaries and supporting commentaries
2. Provides a financial support service to Directors and other stakeholders; ensures financial data is communicated knowledgeably and with clarity
3. Ensures expenditure is kept in line with the budget
4. Contributes to and influences strategic decisions; advises on the financial implications of business decisions
5. Oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions
6. Analyses financial performance and contributes to medium/long term business planning
7. Manages bank transactions, including invoice discounting and placing forward foreign currency exchange contracts and monitoring exchange market to maximise opportunity.
8. Ensures the production of statutory accounts and ensures compliance with statutory obligations
9. Acts as principal contact with external auditors, bank and other external stakeholders
10. Provides leadership and direction for the Finance Team. Ensures effective interaction with HR
11. Manages capital expenditure and grants, also keeping abreast of future grant opportunities
12. Implements governance procedures, risk management processes and ensures the adequacy of internal financial controls
