Worthing, West Sussex (with travel throughout Worthing, Littlehampton and Horsham) 

About Us 

Established in 1991, Turning Tides is a community-led charity dedicated to ending homelessness. We empower homeless or insecurely housed individuals to achieve sustainable independent living. 

We have gone from supporting a handful of people in the coastal town of Worthing to providing a range of services to over 1,700 people in Worthing, Adur, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex. We have over 5,000 supporters, 300 volunteers and 100 staff members to date. 

Now, we’re looking for a Deputy Manager to join us in Worthing and support the successful running of the Recovery Project, a 25 bed residential drug and alcohol service for single homeless adults with drug and/or alcohol addictions.

The Role 

As the Deputy Manager, you’ll support the day-to-day management of the Recovery Project, a CQC Registered Residential Substance Misuse Service. 

Working closely with our Recovery Services Manager, you’ll ensure the successful running of Recovery Houses in Worthing, Littlehampton and Horsham. 

Managing the service and its buildings, you’ll provide guidance and support to staff to ensure that a high-quality service is delivered to individuals. 

Additionally, you will: 

- Work with people who have complex and challenging recovery needs 
- Take a person-centred approach to improve engagement and ensure positive outcomes 
- Help to ensure compliance with CQC requirements 
- Share best practice with colleagues 

About You 

To join us as a Deputy Manager, you’ll need: 

- Knowledge and practical experience of using person-centred tools to support individual’s recovery and development 
- Previous experience of managing a team 
- Experience of multi-agency working and influencing key stakeholders 
- A track record of involving clients in the delivery of services 
- Knowledge of welfare benefits, financial inclusion, housing and homelessness law and policies relevant to homelessness 
- A good understanding of alcohol, drugs and issues around addiction and relapse management
