Category C (Class 2) Driver and Loader

I am recruiting for a Category C Licence Driver/Loader (Class 2) working out of the Birmingham depot located close to the airport; working for one of the fastest growing and biggest travel retailers in the UK they are offering a salary of £20000 rising to £22000.

THE ROLE
Working out of the Birmingham Depot in this role you will be driving to deliver goods to various airport locations which could range between London and Newcastle. At the delivery points you will also be assisting with the off-loading and loading of the goods.

You will be adhering to all compliance with driving and health and safety in order to maintain a safe working environment. As well as driving you will be assisting in the warehouse on average 2/3 hours a day and sometimes 1 of your 4 shifts a week will include a full day in the warehouse depending on the workload, this will involve x-raying goods and sorting pallets ready for loading onto the vehicles.

TYPICAL DAILY JOB DUTIES - WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Delivering goods to various Airport locations covering London to Newcastle
- Assisting with the off-loading and loading of vehicles at the Delivery point
- Assisting in the Warehouse on average a couple of hours a day with a number of duties which includes x-raying goods and sorting pallets for vehicle loading
- Ensuring compliance with Driving rules and regulations
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety
- Shunting vehicles on and off Loading Bays
- On some occasions 1 of your 4 shifts a week will be spent assisting in the warehouse depending on the workload

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Minimum requirement is a Category C (Class 2) Licence
- Valid Driver Qualification Card
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- A CTC (Counter Terrorism Check) will be completed upon commencement of employment
- At least 2 years of experience in driving at a Category C Level
- A clean Driving Licence is desirable but must have less than 6 points
- Previous experience working in a Warehouse/Despatching environment would be ideal but not essential
- Good communication & team working skills
- Ability to work quickly & efficiently under pressure
- Good attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and be flexible
- Physically fit

- A Criminal Record Check (DBS), this is paid for and processed by the company
- 5 years' worth of referencing with any gaps in employment/education over 28 days validated (via proof of activity/character reference)

HOURS
Full Time Permanent Contract - 38 average weekly hours
Shift Pattern - 4 on 4 off Rotating Shift Pattern
Working Hours - 12 hour shifts between the hours of 06 to 18
