Packaging Designer
A vacancy has arisen for our candidate based in Great Yarmouth for an experienced Product Designer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic and success driven with strong communication skills.
The main area of responsibility is within the CAD team who are responsible for dealing with design briefs that come into the business. The tasks to be completed range from designing items to ordering.
The responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Direct ownership for developing design solutions to meet customer needs.
Producing samples for approval prior to orders being placed.
Support Sales, Customer Service and Production in processing new items to ensure all origination and finished product meets and/or exceeds the customer's expectations.
Identify possible changes that will add to greater throughput and present value to the business and customer alike.
Liaising with customers & colleagues with regards to their requirements & keeping them informed of progress.
Take the lead in investigative questions where necessary when evaluating briefs.
Ensure paperwork is kept up-to-date and current to ensure company policy and procedures are adhered to.
Key Skills include:
Experience with CAD software
Self-motivation with an eye for problem solving.
High level of self-expectation and an appreciation for the finer detail.
The ability to follow a design brief & adapt as necessary.
Able to work in a fast paced, changing environment & work to deadlines.
A basic understanding of cutting tools.
An understanding of Flexographic printing would be advantageous but not essential.
Good communication skills both written and oral.
Self-motivated and the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
