Carrington West are seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer to join a South London based Local Authority.
Who is this for?
This position is with a local authority who are responsible for the regulation and enforcement of all parking policy infringements on their public roads and streets.
How will you suit the job?
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and has the commitment, passion and drive to help an enthusiastic team deliver a high quality service. You will provide outstanding customer care, within a high profile and vital Council service that supports to the day to day activities of all residents, business and the thousands of daily visitors to the area.
You will play a significant role in reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality through the enforcement of parking restrictions. More importantly, as a member of the Council, will play a key role in providing information and advice to the general public.
What will you need to succeed?
You will need to have a NVQ Level 2 for Parking Enforcement (or comparable qualification) with considerable experience in the enforcement environment.
You will need to be friendly, polite and willing to offer support, advice and assistance to colleagues and customers. You will like dealing with people face to face and be able to provide accurate, helpful information at all times, even in difficult situations.
You will have an eye for detail and be able to work effectively as part of a team, and show respect for others by treating everyone equally.
You should be physically fit and be able to walk as much as 10 miles per day whilst carrying approximately 8lb/4kg of equipment and be prepared to work in all weathers. A full UK driving licence for manual vehicles is essential.
