Employment Officer, Temporary Contract, 37 Hour Week, Newtownabbey, GBP11.61 per hour, Housing Association
Your new company
An immediate start for an Employment Officer working with Adults with Learning Disabilities. This opportunity is with a large Housing Association, with the position to be based in Newtownabbey. This role will initially run for at least 4 weeks with a possible extension.
Your new role
A busy role with a range of responsibilities. You will work with adults who have Learning Disabilities and will assist them in career planning, forming relationships in the workplace, helping them to find suitable employment opportunities and provide them with job coaching and advice. You will be heavily involved in the Employment team of this association and will participate fully in team meetings, supervisions and appraisals. You will write reports and must maintain confidentiality at all times.
What you'll need to succeed
You must be a fully qualified Social Worker / Occupational Therapist OR hold a third level qualification in a relevant discipline such as Employment/ Teaching/ Training/ Careers/ HR. As well as this qualification you must have a minimum of 2 years experience working with Learning Disabilities and / or 3 years years' experience supporting individuals with a disability or complex needs in their employment search. You must also have a sound working knowledge in employment options for disabled citizens, the supported employment model and accredited training activity and the application of same.
