HR Manager                                  

Based in Exeter

We are looking for an HR Manager to join our HR Team. You will be based in our Exeter office, but will be required to travel to our Cornish offices on a fairly regular basis. 

This is a full time role working 9am – 5.15pm Monday to Friday, but you may be required to work outside of normal office hours as and when the business requires and when visiting our other offices.  It is essential that you are a car driver. 

We are ideally looking for an early January start date. 

The Role:

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Human Resources, and will be responsible for providing a  high quality HR service to our people.  This role is a generalist HR role with particular emphasis on recruitment & selection.  It will also encompass everything you would expect in a generalist HR role, including talent management, employee relations issues, absence management, reward and remuneration, training and development, and project management.  You will also be responsible for developing wellbeing and employee engagement initiatives.

About You:

You will be an experienced HR Manager who has the ability to manage and support all aspects of the HR mix, in particular recruitment & selection, and you will have a good up to date understanding of employment law.  You will also have project management experience and ideally, you will have experience of using an HRIS. 

You will have a full and busy workload, so you will need to be able to meet deadlines and remain calm under pressure, be proactive and take initiative, be flexible and adaptable in your approach, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will need to demonstrate the ability to persuade and influence senior stakeholders, and provide coaching and guidance to Team Leaders. Key to this role is confidentiality, professionalism and attention to detail. You will also need to be proficient in all areas of ICT.

A minimum of 2 years recent experience working as an HR Manager is essential, ideally in a professional services firm. Full or part CIPD qualified is preferred but not essential.
