THE ROLE:
Implement effective service strategies and policies to achieve the commercial and technical targets set by the client in conjunction with the Metallurgical Service business segment.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY / TASKS:
* Implement service strategies in conjunction with the business segment, by visiting customer site and instilling our technical competence with the maintenance operatives and management in order to ensure growth in order intake, sales and profitability for MS.
* Become the lead engineer for the FARO Tracker Equipment, becoming fully conversant in Rolling Mill Metrology. (no prior experience required)
* Become skilled in reporting your findings in order to give concise and accurate information to both customer and Primetals Management.
* Undertake Risk Assessments and complete Method Statements for service related activities.
* Assist in the Site Survey business within MS by supporting customers with their onsite requirements.
* Present and communicate business position and areas for improvement within designated markets enabling the group to focus on customers' needs in order to secure small projects, upgrades and spares orders
* Maintain and support client and intermediary and intercompany relationships through personal contact and level of service to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved.
* Support Site Service Manager with customers conditioned monitoring requirements. Gain an understanding of vibration analysis and assist in carrying out vibration audits at site in order to maximise customer's mill utilisation.
* Site travel / working - We would expect 25% (12 weeks) of the year to be spent at customer sites.
* Driving license.
COMPETENCIES
Knowledge & Skills:
Essential:
* Knowledge of the steel industry and an understanding of the importance of collecting relevant data
* Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques
* In depth knowledge of general engineering and manufacturing processes
* Ability to operate independently at customer's site
Desirable
* Knowledge of Metals Rolling process, through industry related experience
* Second language
* Ability to operate Solid Edge / Solid Works CAD system
Experience:
Essential:
* Experience in fault finding investigation relating to Industrial Processing equipment
* Understanding of site installation/ service rebuild of Industrial Processing equipment
* Understanding of all Health and safety / CDM issues concerning working sites
* Experience in identifying issues at customers site and finding a solution to rectify problem areas
Desirable
* Experienced in traveling throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
EDUCATIONAL / PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS (IF ANY):
* BEng in Engineering (Desired but not essential)
