Ragged Edge is excited to be working with our Client who is the UK's leading ports operator. Handling over 92 million tonnes of cargo per annum, including 30 million tonnes for export. Together with their customers, they support 119,000 jobs around Britain and contribute GBP7.5 billion to the UK economy every year and now, they are looking for someone to join the TEAM.
YOUR PURPOSE
Working closely with the Port Manager, identify, lead and implement new business opportunities and medium-long term growth strategies in the Automotive sector for the region.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Comply at all times with company Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Act at all times as an ambassador for the company, clearly living and demonstrating the Company's Vision and Values.
• Manage existing commercial agreements in relation to performance and pricing on a structured basis and in conjunction with regular review meetings with the customers.
• Identify new business development opportunities and work with the Port Manager and other stakeholders to identify a delivery plan for growth in quality earnings across the region.
• Negotiate commercial deals and draft contractual agreements in conjunction with the Port Manager and Head of Commercial with support from other stakeholders as appropriate.
• Assist the Head of Commercial with preparation of Board Papers and completion of financial back checks, as required, to ensure that commercial prospects receive approval and are in line with customers' expectations and the company's financial targets.
• Participate or lead in the company Industry Teams and develop new opportunities and partnerships in relevant sectors to the company.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Graduate or at least 5 years' sales, marketing and business development experience, ideally in the Automotive sector
• Strong Commercial background.
• Demonstrable experience and capability to grow the business revenues and profitability
• Demonstrable customer services excellence.
• Presentation skills
• Tenacious and pro active
• Agile
• Able to demonstrate significant experience of working in a Business Development / Commercial Department.
• Skilled in economic evaluation methodology.
• Experience and track record of negotiating at a high level.
• Good customer management/relationship skills.
• Strategic thinker identifying and delivering growth potential
• Tenacious approach with an ability to get things done in a fully compliant manner.
• Excellent communication skills and adept at working across different functions and cultures within the organisation.
• Strong organisational management skills.
• Motivated by seeing a programme through implementation to final delivery.
• Estates and property management exposure
