Now is an exciting time to join our client, the largest housing association in the South West.
They are a leading developer of affordable and social housing in the South West. From the shores of Cornwall to the Gloucestershire hills, they have a vision to build real social change in their region, one front door at a time.
Why their Supported Housing team is great???
The department
They are friendly and diverse Supported Housing team comprising of approximately 40 staff covering 10 support contracts across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.
They currently have two positions available. One in their Resettlement service and one in their Accommodation service. These services are delivered by the Bristol Supported Housing Team.
The Pathways Resettlement service
This service supports individuals who are exiting all 4 supported housing pathways in Bristol into their own tenancies, though some may be moving in with friends or family or moving on to other accommodation types. The targeted support will help people to achieve their goals and aspirations and sustain and maintain their new tenancies. This team also consists of a triage coordinator who manages their waiting list and vacancies and a peer co-coordinator who is responsible for managing their peer mentors who work alongside the team.
The Pathway Accommodation service
This service supports residents aged 22+ in Bristol's Pathway 1, male only service. This service works closely with 5 other supported housing providers at levels 1 to 4. Meeting regularly and working collaboratively to provide a seamless support service as residents move through the pathway. Support workers in this team are responsible for managing the vacancies on their schemes and triaging prospective new tenants.
Both teams work with adults who have varied support needs. Their support is aimed at helping people find their advantages in life while they transition to living independently, with the skills and understanding of how to do that and maintain their resilience. They are a friendly yet professional team of people with a range of support experience. They are very proud of their work and supporting people to achieve is at the heart of everything they do.
How they work
This position is field based. They have several touchdown points across the Bristol/South Gloucestershire locality. Their head office is in Weston-Super-Mare and you will be required to work from this location on occasion. Within the two teams there are 11 members of staff supporting 150+ clients.
This is a low level support service offering clients around 1 / 2 hours of support per resident a week and they operate between the hours of 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday.
There's a space in their team are you the person to fill it?
You will need a positive, 'can-do' attitude to your client-centred approach and be committed to providing excellent customer service, with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. This is a demanding role and an ability to prioritise your work in order to meet tight deadlines will be crucial to their success.
This role will be challenging at times and you will be working with residents with a range of difficult and challenging issues and behaviours. Using your initiative, intuition and problem solving will be a key in this role.
Experience in a similar role would be desirable, however what is most important is having passion for supporting people in their communities.
