Our client has an opportunity for a Content Editor (8 Months Fixed Term Contract) to be responsible for the end-to-end content management of an allocated portfolio of titles and / or subject areas via their electronic editorial systems, ensuring quality and timely publication of content to an agreed set of key performance indicators.

Working in partnership with the portfolio Publisher, the Content Editor is also responsible for the day-to-day relationship management of editorial stakeholders, ensuring that content metrics are monitored and achieved, and providing excellent service at all times.

Content & Portfolio Management:

  • Maintain ownership for editorial delivery of allocated portfolio to budget and schedule
  • Manage pipeline of content for allocated portfolio of titles and/or subject areas (submissions, reviews and acceptances) via electronic editorial
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators for each title/subject, escalating any significant variances to associated colleagues;
  • With the Editorial Systems Manager, develop requirements for any new S1M sites, configuration updates and creation of Special Issues;
  • Ensuring content is clean and complete, including appropriate copyright and permissions assignment, and the resolution of any ethical concerns surrounding the content.


Relationship Management:

  • Working in partnership with portfolio Publisher to develop and maintain editorial stakeholder relationships
  • Provide main point of contact to editorial stakeholders for an allocated portfolio of titles and/or subject areas, regarding submission, review, acceptance and publication of content;
  • Attend Editor and Editorial Board Meetings as required; some business travel may be required.
  • Via metrics reporting, provide internal and external feedback on the performance of titles/subject areas, address any concerns regarding pipeline and rejection rates, and identify solutions for improvement;
  • Provide ongoing electronic editorial systems training and support to authors, editors, reviewers and other stakeholders as required;
  • Coordinate and liaise with related parties in resolving cases surrounding publishing ethics
