Currently recruiting on behalf of our aerospace client for a seasoned Cost Engineer
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for Cost Engineer:
• To provide commercial support and guidance to both new and existing programmes, providing quotations and negotiating prices
• To support the Commercial in securing profitable new contracts.
• To support the Engineering Director in preparing and presenting of project internal status reports to the customer.
• To work with purchasing to attain supplier quotations for sub con and special ops.
• To collect costs from end to end (development to packaging / transport).
• To review the costs to completion of new programmes as an audit to clarify profit or loss.
• To support the Commercial Manager in submission of bids.
PERSON SPECIFICATION for Cost Engineer:
• Must be from a strong CNC machining background and be fully conversant with modern manufacturing techniques.
• Must be dynamic and enthusiastic.
• Experience of machining large precision turned components.
• Must have knowledge of CAD CAM systems
• Understanding where process requirements such as Heat treatment and coatings are carried out to customer specifications is essential
• Experience of APQP, PFMEA's with proven track record of NPI.
• The ability to implement Lean techniques is essential
