HOMAG UK is recruiting an Area Sales Manager for the North East of England with extensive knowledge of modern-day woodworking machinery, software and production processes.

This is a rare opportunity to join the UK sales team and become part of The HOMAG Group - the world leader in woodworking machinery and software.

Priding itself on German technology, quality, reliability and service, the chosen candidate will mirror HOMAG’s values, maintaining its first class reputation within the market.

The successful candidate requires experience either in Production Management or Production Engineering. Previous sales experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

The Role
This is a very demanding but rewarding role offering many benefits for someone that is not afraid of hard work.

Summary:

  • Represent HOMAG UK at the highest level of professionalism
  • Maintain existing accounts and developing new prospects
  • Manage the achievement of the annual sales targets set for the area
  • Responsible for planning and carrying out direct sales activities
  • Flexible approach to working hours essential
  • Use and maintain the accuracy of our CRM system
  • Attend open houses, national and international exhibitions as required
  • Organise customer demonstrations

Key attributes:

  • Extensive knowledge of modern-day woodworking machinery, software and production processes
  • Production Management / Production Engineering skills advantageous
  • Previous sales experience of technical machinery, software and services preferred but not essential
  • Ability to provide our customers with honest, well founded advice and support to allow them to make informed decisions for their future capital investments
  • Self-motivated with the drive required to achieve challenging sales targets under pressure
  • Hardworking, industrious, able to work on own initiative, thrives under pressure
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Very numerate, PC literate
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A personable, trustworthy character.
  • Open to flexible working hours.
  • Open to overseas travel and overnight stays.
  • Clean driving licence.
