6- month temporary contract
GBP15 per hour
Working 37 hours per week. Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am - 12.30pm
Our client is a global business with facilities in over 30 countries. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Buyer to work with the Senior Buyer sourcing items in line with specification.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Receiving the technical requirements from engineering, then identifying/initiating an approach to suitable suppliers (existing or new)
* Managing the ongoing purchase and delivery of the required products or services.
* This will include arranging and managing the dispatch/collection documentation, packaging and shipping of items to meet the needs of the project.
* Export/Import classification of technical data associated with the project.
* Advise on quality requirements, making sure we are clear on requirements for flight and non-flight requirements.
* Supporting FAI/ supplier audits
* Maintain a system to track materials and approvals to ensure data is available
* Compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety Legislation and Company's Policies.
Experience/Skills:
* Excellent planning & organisational skills.
* Good numeracy and communication skills.
* Basic computer skills - Word, Excel, MS Office
* Proven background in identifying and initiating new suppliers
* Experience in supporting supplier audits
* Qualifications in a relevant subject matter would be beneficial
