Coulter Elite Resourcing are currently looking for a Materials Manager to work with one of their well-established and bespoke manufacturing firms based in Luton.
Managing a team of 2 goods-in personnel you would be managing one-off engineering projects to assess the need for parts, materials and components. This role offers a varied role which would suit someone from an industrial engineering background who is happy to work in a busy and fast moving work environment.
Principle Responsibilities for the Materials Manager:-
* Looking after the purchasing and scheduling of all orders, ensuring that stock availability to kept up to date dependent upon customer needs
* Liaising with suppliers on a daily basis, both over email and phone to negotiate prices and order in stock/parts for manufacturing
* The role is predominately desk and will be managing a small team of 2 goods-in personnel who will report directly into yourself
* Inputting data into MRP systems, whilst simultaneously keeping excel spreadsheets updated with stock availability
* Dealing with the production engineers to assess material needs and order in appropriate amounts to cater for customer orders
Person Specification:-
* Must have previous Materials experience either as a Materials Manager, Materials Controller or Materials Coordinator
* Ideally have MRP experience (preferably SAGE or MIE-Trak Pro)
* Need to have excellent customer relationship skills
* Must have excellent decision-making skills and the ability to deal with difficult situations head on
* A high level of IT skills, proficient in Microsoft office to include Microsoft Excel
* Be able to prioritise, plan and organise workloads whilst in a busy environment
* Good communication and inter personnel skills
* Team player
This is a full time permanent Materials Manager position, working Mon - Thurs 8am - 5pm and Friday 8am - 1pm. This position is paying between GBP26,000 - GBP30,000 PA (DOE) and offers the right person an excellent long term career ladder.
