Job Title: Warehouse & Logistics Manager
My client a busy building supplies warehouse is looking for a Warehouse Manager to join their fast growing team.
Job Description
You will lead the team ensuring the customer led operation is maintained and evolves with the needs of the growing business. Ensuring excellence in each team member by training and reviewing performances.
Using cost effective software and previous warehouse management knowledge to help route and co-ordinate activities to achieve business performance through focusing on continuous improvement and promoting a culture of employee engagement. Problem solving, planning, organisational skills and initiative are the main attributes for this role.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
• Relevant industry experience (warehouse management, distribution and logistics).
• Proven ability to manage teams.
• Clear leadership skills, energy and passion.
• Motivational skills
• Staff recruitment & training
• Creating and developing training structures
• Good customer service skills
• Attention to detail
• Knowledgeable in Health and Safety
• Ability to make positive business decisions
• Stock control and forecasting experience
• Strong organisational skills
• Management of planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
• Security of stock and building
• Management of the receipt, storage and despatch of stock.
• Coordinating and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures.
• Ensuring compliance with and knowledge of current warehouse legislation
• Overseeing inventory control, including implementing processes such as physical inventory counts and reconciling inventory data with data management systems.
• Establishing and monitoring security procedures to ensure the safety of the warehouse operation, personnel, inventory, and other warehouse assets.
• Optimizing the warehouse layout, inspecting equipment, and ensuring ongoing maintenance procedures are followed.
• Preparing an annual budget, managing expenses, and implementing changes to ensure the warehouse operates within the established budget.
• Overseeing the recruitment, hiring, training, and retention of warehouse staff.
Scheduling, ongoing employee monitoring, disciplinary measures, coaching, and other human resources and quality assurance functions.
• Staying up-to-date with technology advancements and trends in warehousing, logistics, supply chain.
Salary and Benefits
GBP25,000-GBP30,000 depending on experience
Bonus scheme relating to team and branch performance
