Hazardous Waste Supervisor - East Kent - Salary - Depending on experience
Our client is looking for an experienced Hazardous Waste Supervisor to join their established business based at their East Kent site. They offer their customers lots of niche offerings in their field, making them a business leader in what they do.
Working as a supervisor, you will be responsible for the team on site, supporting the smooth running of operations with ensuring the team are meeting their objectives and have everything in place required, enabling them to perform in their role.
The ideal candidate will come from a background working with hazardous waste materials and have a good knowledge of these materials, ideally holding at least a HND in Chemistry. It's important for any applicants to be able to demonstrate commitment and longevity in their CV, as commitment is important to this client.
Essential experience for this position:
* HND minimum in Chemistry;
* Working with hazardous or waste materials;
* Forklift truck experience;
* Supervisory experience;
* Environmental permits - advantageous.
Duties of this position will include:
* Managing and booking vehicles to arrive on-site, managing the stacking process;
* Ensuring waste products meet all compliance guidelines and follow correct process on arrival to site;
* Managing the reception, warehouse and chemist functions;
* Providing all support and supervising all individuals on site, assisting them to ensure they achieve their KPI's, conducting 1-2-1's, holiday authorisation, managing sickness etc;
* Ensure safety is top priority on site at all times, ensuring the team are consistently working safely and within company expectations;
* Manage all site handovers to the next shift, taking full responsibility for knowledge being handed over;
* Manage all paperwork for the site, ensuring full compliance at all times.
The expectation is to be a hands on supervisor, that isn't afraid to get their hands dirty and get stuck in if required, as well as to ensure you are leading by example. You need to be a great team player, which is dedicated to building a career in your next job appointment.
You will be working Monday - Friday, with the expectation to work overtime on a Saturday morning should the business need require this. Due to the location of this client, it is essential that you drive and have access to your own vehicle. There will be the expectation in the beginning to travel to another site to carry out training.
