CNC Setter-Operator

Exciting Contract opportunity for a CNC Setter - Operator based in Cwmbran!!

Our South Wales based client, a world leading aircraft interiors manufacturer, are currently looking to expand their composite workforce, and are looking for a number of CNC Setter - Operators.

As a CNC Setter - Operator, you will set the tooling and the CNC machines which make a wide range of components.

Key Authorities and Responsibilities:
• Produce components in minimal possible time and to drawing requirements
• Achieve maximum usage of machine capabilities leaving a finished component requiring minimal manual finishing
• Prepare and maintain CNC machines to required specification and procedural guidelines
• Set-up panels to correct specification using layout sheet
• Set all tooling
• Rout composite components and polycarbonate vacuum forms to required quality standards
• Machine CNC holding fixtures, drill and tap aluminium panels to required standards
• Operate CNC equipment to procedure and health and safety guidelines
• Drill and tap to drawing specification
• Be flexible in a team oriented environment

Preferred Experience:
• CNC machine experience- 3 and 4 axis machines, experience working with Fanuc or Heidenhain desirable
• Come from an engineering background, having a time served apprenticeship or equivalent
• Conversant reading and working to engineering drawings
• Milling or turning experience

• Must have the ability to work without supervision in a multi-functional team
• Must be prepared to undertake all reasonable requests as determined by the business needs
• Must implement and maintain a safe environment for employees and immediately raise Health and Safety concerns to management in compliance with the company Health and Safety procedures
• Expected to ensure the working department is clean and presentable at all times
