Our client and is well respected organisation who are looking to expand their operation and recruit a Software Engineering Manager joining the team in Glasgow at their Head Office. A challenging and exciting role with a company keen to develop talent from within.
A vital role within the organisation managing and developing the existing team whilst planning, resourcing and ensuring timely delivery of key projects. The successful candidate will have at least 5 - 7 years experience leading or managing a software development team.
The Role
* Leading and managing a software development team building complex systems utilising modern programming languages, agile practices and distributed cloud-based architectures
* To liaise with various departments co-ordinating projects both home and abroad
* Attending management meetings
* Progress reporting
* Team resource management
* Review and monitor team and individual progress optimizing development time
* Mentoring and coaching
* Recruitment
* Negotiating trade-offs in software design
* Dealing with high concurrency environments and the primitives used to manage them
Requirements
* 5 - 7 Years leading or managing a software development team
* Technology stack - Java, JavaScript, Clojure, AngularJS, Spring Framework, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS.
* First class interpersonal skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical personnel
* Excellent written and oral skills
* Extensive experience managing teams who deliver cloud-based Saas solutions
* Relevant academic qualifications
