Science Lab Technician - Term time only

We currently have a permanent opportunity for two Technicians in the busy Science team. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the teaching team to deliver high levels of practical support when planning for and conducting experiments linked to learners' main programmes of study.

We currently offer courses from BTEC level 1 to level 3 on a range of programmes including Applied Science, Biomedical and Forensics. You will be responsible for receiving requests, ordering and setting up equipment and supporting the team in maintaining a safe environment for our learners.

Your area of responsibility will vary so flexibility and the ability to prioritise are essential along with attention to detail.

The working hours will usually be Term Time only (38 weeks per year) 8.30 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday. However, the working hours will vary on occasions dependent on the needs of the College.

The successful candidate will have a good level of general education. Previous experience of working in Science labs is desirable as is having studied Science to level 3 standard.

You will be self motivated with a high level of initiative and attention to detail. Exceptional communication skills both verbally and written are essential.
