About Us

Development Initiatives (DI) is an independent international development organisation that uses data to tackle poverty and drive sustainable development.

We played a key role in establishing IATI, a global initiative striving to improve the transparency of development and humanitarian resources and their results for addressing poverty and crises.

Now, we’re looking for a Technical Lead to oversee IATI Standard, an open-data standard which is at the heart of IATI.

The Benefits

- Salary of £55,000 – £65,000 DOE
- Pension scheme (after three months’ service) with 5% employer contribution
- Your choice of high-spec PC, Mac or Linux laptop
- Flexible working options, including home working and flexi-time
- Subsidised healthcare
- Enhanced policies, such as maternity, paternity and adoption leave and sick pay
- Cycle to work scheme
- A personal development budget to buy books and training resources
- The chance to travel internationally and learn about other areas of the organisation
- Up to five days’ paid leave to volunteer for a cause that addresses poverty or helps vulnerable people
- 25 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays

This is an amazing opportunity to drive the success of a platform that is encouraging key figures across the globe to share knowledge and gain insight into how we can end poverty and vulnerability the world over.

You will have the chance to collaborate with a like-minded team, lead all aspects of our technical work on IATI and contribute to solutions that are making a positive impact across the globe.

So, if you’re seeking an exciting senior management role where you can enhance your existing expertise and do some real good with your career, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

As the Technical Lead, you will work with key stakeholders in the IATI community to develop a long-term vision for the IATI Standard.

In this important role, you’ll lead efforts to improve data quality and promote data use, maintain IATI’s technical infrastructure and provide advice to IATI’s key stakeholders.

Specifically, you will:

- Oversee a team of Data Analysts and Full Stack Developers
- Play a key role in driving forward IATI’s vision and mission
- Ensure the smooth running of all in-house and outsourced products
- Oversee improvements to the standard

About You

- Demonstrable knowledge of standards and best practices relating to systems design and development
- An appreciation of current trends in information technologies

Knowledge of international development or a demonstrated interest in poverty-related issues would be beneficial to your application.
