A starting salary of up to point 3 (£54,150)

Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW) regulates and inspects NHS services and independent healthcare providers in Wales against a range of standards, policies, guidance and regulations to highlight areas requiring improvement.

Through our work we aim to provide assurance and provide an independent view on the quality of care.  We promote improvement through reporting and sharing of good practice.  We use what we find to influence policy, standards and practice.

In line with our strategic priorities, HIW is seeking to expand its programme of reviews and investigations. This is therefore a brand new and exciting opportunity to join HIW in an important role, providing leadership, drive and direction to HIW’s thematic reviews, special reviews and investigations, ensuring they are carried out in accordance with best practice, and to the highest standard. The Head of Reviews will also lead a small number of high-profile reviews or investigations.

The Head of Reviews will be required to engage with senior level stakeholders, playing a key role in building positive relationships and ensuring effective communication with both internal and external partners, including other inspectorates, NHS bodies, the police, patients, and the public. The Head of Reviews may also be required to represent HIW to the media as and when required.

The Head of Reviews will also perform a Relationship Manager role within HIW, becoming a key link for a designated NHS Wales Trust or Local Health Board. This will mean significant engagement with external partners, and senior leaders within the relevant NHS organisation.

The Head of Reviews will be part of HIW’s Senior Management Team and report to the Head of Escalation and Enforcement. They will provide professional advice to HIW’s senior managers in relation to thematic and review activities, and they will also play a central role in developing HIW’s professional development framework, with the specific aim of ensuring that staff are developed and aided to reach their potential

A starting salary of up to point 3 (£54,150) may be considered where the essential skills, knowledge and experience are demonstrated.

Occasional work is required outside of normal office hours in order to complete inspections.

The location is 'Pan Wales' which means that the location base can be flexible, subject to the needs of the business. Mae Arolygiaeth Gofal Iechyd Cymru (AGIC) yn rheoleiddio ac yn arolygu gwasanaethau'r GIG a darparwyr gofal iechyd annibynnol yng Nghymru yn erbyn amrywiaeth o safonau, polisïau, canllawiau a rheoliadau er mwyn amlygu'r meysydd sydd angen eu gwella.

Drwy ein gwaith rydym yn ceisio rhoi sicrwydd a barn annibynnol ar ansawdd y gofal.  Rydym yn hyrwyddo gwelliant trwy lunio adroddiadau a rhannu arfer da.  Rydym yn defnyddio'r hyn rydym yn ei ganfod i ddylanwadu ar bolisi, safonau ac arfer.

Yn unol â'n blaenoriaethau strategol, mae AGIC yn ceisio ehangu ei rhaglen o adolygiadau ac ymchwiliadau. Felly mae hwn yn gyfle cyffrous a newydd sbon i ymuno ag AGIC mewn rôl bwysig, gan ddarparu arweinyddiaeth, brwdfrydedd a chyfarwyddyd i adolygiadau thematig AGIC, ac adolygiadau ac ymchwiliadau arbennig, gan sicrhau y cânt eu cynnal yn unol ag arfer gorau, ac i'r safon uchaf. Bydd y Pennaeth Adolygiadau hefyd yn arwain nifer fach o adolygiadau neu ymchwiliadau proffil uchel.

Bydd angen i'r Pennaeth Adolygiadau ymgysylltu ag uwch randdeiliaid, gan chwarae rôl allweddol yn y gwaith o feithrin cydberthnasau cadarnhaol, a sicrhau dull cyfathrebu effeithiol â phartneriaid mewnol ac allanol, gan gynnwys arolygiaethau eraill, cyrff y GIG, yr heddlu, cleifion a'r cyhoedd. Efallai y bydd angen i'r Pennaeth Adolygiadau hefyd gynrychioli AGIC yn y cyfryngau pan fydd angen.

Bydd y Pennaeth Adolygiadau hefyd yn cyflawni rôl Rheolwr Cydberthynas o fewn AGIC, gan ddod yn gyswllt allweddol ar gyfer Ymddiriedolaeth GIG Cymru neu Fwrdd Iechyd Lleol dynodedig. Bydd hyn yn golygu cryn ymgysylltu â phartneriaid allanol, ac uwch arweinwyr o fewn sefydliad perthnasol y GIG.

Bydd y Pennaeth Adolygiadau yn rhan o Uwch Dîm Rheoli AGIC ac yn atebol i'r Pennaeth Uwchgyfeirio a Gorfodi. Byddant yn rhoi cyngor proffesiynol i uwch reolwyr AGIC mewn perthynas â gweithgareddau thematig ac adolygu, a byddant hefyd yn chwarae rhan ganolog yn y gwaith o ddatblygu fframwaith datblygiad proffesiynol AGIC, gyda'r nod penodol o sicrhau bod staff yn cael eu datblygu a'u cynorthwyo i gyflawni eu potensial

Gall cyflog cychwynnol hyd at bwynt 3 (£54,150) gael ei ystyried lle y dangosir bod gan rywun y sgiliau, y wybodaeth a'r profiad hanfodol.

Bydd angen gwneud gwaith achlysurol y tu allan i oriau swyddfa arferol er mwyn cwblhau arolygiadau.
