Becoming a Print and Logistics Manager

Location - Fort Dunlop Birmingham with travel to client/supplier sites

Competitive Salary

This is an exciting new contract for Capita to administer Key Stage One, Key Stage Two and Phonics National Curriculum Tests for the Standards and Testing Agency (STA). Capita is responsible for ensuring schools in England have enough test papers for all Key Stage One and Two pupils to take the annual tests in May each year. Capita will also recruit and manage Markers to mark Key Stage Two tests and publish results in July each year. The contract starts in September 2018 and will last for six years.

The Print and Logistics Manageris a critical role within the Operational Team that will provide oversight and quality assurance of Capita's subcontractors in the production, collation and distribution of National Curriculum Assessment materials. The role will require frequent travel to subcontractor sites to observe and quality check the preparation of all test papers

What you will do:

Produce an annual Production and Logistics plan in conjunction with Capita's subcontractors to cover manufacture, collation and delivery
*

Monitor progress against this plan and invoking contingency arrangements when necessary
*

Prepare a detailed specification, including volumetrics, for all stages of the production cycle
*

Ensure the Quality Plan for production of materials is adhered to
*

Attend the collation provider's site to participate in the handover to Capita's logistics partner
*

Gain approval from the Security Manager for consignments to be released to the logistics partner
*

Track delivery of materials to schools
*

Participate in incident management tasks if there is an unauthorised release of test materials
*

Use industry knowledge to ensure Capita is receiving best value from its production and logistics partners
*

Oversee the arrival of completed test papers to the scanning bureau and monitoring progress including the quarantine process
*

Organise and host the exceptions marking event for test papers which cannot be marked electronically
