Chartered Building Surveyor
Christou & Co. are a multi-discipline project & building consultancy, providing owners, occupiers, developers & funders, with a full range of professional property and construction consultancy services across commercial, industrial and residential sectors.
You will be responsible for a wide variety of building surveying and project management related work, with a broad mix of residential, commercial and public sector involvement.
Your key accountabilities will include:
* Management of instructions and projects
* Collating and writing reports
* Contributing to team skill base developing efficient working practices
* Client management and new client development
* Early identification of risk with robust mitigation strategies
* Attending sites, internal and external / client facing meetings
* Assist in promoting sustainable thinking to our clients, and have a basic level of understanding as to how to integrate sustainable thinking into our projects
* Project management and administration
* Undertaking Building Surveyor's inspections and preparing reports giving advice on costs and procurement
* Preparing specifications and works schedules for, and administering repair and refurbishment contracts
* Preparing and negotiating schedules of dilapidations and advising clients on breach of repairing obligations
* Project monitoring, contractor liaison and overseeing construction schemes
* Conducting measured surveys and producing site plans and design drawings
* Assessing construction planning documents and liaising with contractors on high-risk schemes of works in populated areas
* Making sustainable business links with both external and internal clients and offering a professional and excellent client service always.
Qualifications and experience:
* MRICS
* Proficient in AutoCAD
* Defect diagnosis and planned maintenance schedules
* Party wall matters
* Contract administration
* Building condition reports
* Dilapidations - for both tenants and landlords
* Technical due diligence surveys
* Fire safety surveys
* Schedules of condition
* Driving license
